There’s a kind of weight we weren’t meant to carry — the burden of trying to control what only God can. We hold tight to situations, people, and outcomes, thinking if we just try hard enough, we can make everything turn out right. But in reality, that grip only leaves us weary.
“Cast all your anxiety on Him because He cares for you.” — 1 Peter 5:7
Letting go doesn’t mean we stop caring. It means we trust God’s hands more than our own. It’s a daily surrender — sometimes an hourly one — of releasing what we can’t change and choosing to rest in His care.
Three Steps to Practice Letting Go:
Identify the Weight – Name what’s worrying you. Write it down and acknowledge it before God.
Release It in Prayer – Tell Him you’re giving it to Him, and ask for the strength not to take it back.
Refocus on What You Can Do – Shift your energy toward faith-filled actions and trust that He’s working in what you can’t see.
Reflection Question: What’s one thing you’ve been holding onto that you need to place in God’s hands today?
Prayer: Lord, You see the things that weigh me down. I choose to place them in Your hands right now. Help me trust that You’re in control, and teach me to rest in the peace that comes from surrender. Amen.
