Dear Beautiful Soul,
Storms come in many forms — the kind that shake our circumstances and the kind that rattle our hearts. Sometimes it’s a sudden loss, a painful disappointment, or an unexpected turn that leaves us gasping for breath. Other times, it’s the slow, relentless waves of life’s demands that wear us down.
Yet even here, in the middle of the storm, there is a promise: God’s peace is not shaken by the wind. His presence is not swept away by the waves.
“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” — Isaiah 26:3
Peace in the storm doesn’t mean the chaos disappears — it means our hearts can be steady in the middle of it. Like Peter stepping out of the boat to walk on water, our focus must be fixed on Jesus, not the swirling waves around us.
Here are three ways to hold onto God’s peace when life feels uncertain:
1. Anchor Yourself in His Word
When fear tries to pull you under, declare scripture over your life. Speak His promises out loud — they are your lifeline in rough waters.
2. Create Moments of Stillness
Even a few minutes of quiet with God can calm an anxious heart. Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and imagine placing your worries into His hands.
3. Remember the Storm is Temporary
No matter how fierce, storms pass. God’s love endures forever, and His plans for you are good — even when you can’t yet see the shore.
Blessing for You: May His peace settle over you like a warm blanket in the cold. May your heart be unshaken by the waves. And may you always remember — the One who calms the storm is holding you.
With love and light, Kristine Hawkins
