Dear Beautiful Soul,
Some people think self-care is selfish — a luxury for those with extra time or money. But I believe self-care, when rooted in faith, is not only necessary… it’s holy.
We live in a world that glorifies busyness, where slowing down often feels like falling behind. Yet God’s Word reminds us of a different rhythm — one where rest is sacred, and renewal is an act of trust.
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28
When we care for our bodies, we’re honoring the temple God has given us (1 Corinthians 6:19-20). When we care for our minds, we create space for His peace to settle in. And when we care for our spirits, we open ourselves to hear His voice more clearly.
Faith-infused self-care is about inviting God into those moments. It’s praying while massaging lotion into your hands. It’s playing worship music while soaking in a warm bath. It’s lighting a candle, breathing deeply, and letting His presence wash over you.
Here are three simple ways to start:
Morning Blessing Routine – Begin your day by reading a scripture aloud as you apply your favorite lotion or fragrance. Let the words linger as a promise over your day.
Sacred Pause – Take five minutes in the middle of your day to breathe, pray, and realign your heart with His peace.
Evening Release – As you wash your face or prepare for bed, thank God for carrying you through the day, releasing your worries into His hands.
Self-care becomes soul-care when it’s done with intention, gratitude, and the awareness that you are deeply loved by your Creator.
My prayer for you today:May you give yourself permission to rest without guilt.May your body be renewed, your mind be calmed, and your spirit be lifted. And may you remember — the God who made you delights in seeing you whole.
With love and light,Kristine HawkinsKristelle Liora
